The Association of the Serbian paddlers of
the TID is a civil, nongonvermental and non-profit organization
of citizens. Engaged in recreative and sport paddling of kayaks
and canoes and spending time on our and foreign rivers, lakes
and seas. The Association was founded with the aim of gathering
people who love nature, sports, recreation and paddling.The Association
was founded in the summer of 2000 at the mouth of the River Sava
to the Dabube on the Island of Lido, so its office is in Belgrade.
The memebers of the Association are: pupils, students, workers,
clarks, lawyers, engineers, teachers, retired persons, temporary
employed and temporary unemployed from all parts of the country.There
is no age limit for membership. Our oldest member is :Ljubomir
Cvetkovic, called Ljuba Som (Ljuba Sheath-fish), a 77 year-old
man, who paddled on the 47th TID, from Ingolstadt to Belgrade
(1286 km), in 2002. At moment our youngest member is 12.
The TID or the Tour International Danubien is the most important
annual happening, which takes place at the end of June, and start
from Ingolstadt, Germany and ends in Silistra, Bulgaria, at the
end of August. The total lenght of the tour is 2082 km.
Besides paddling all the way down the Danube, we also paddle on
the following rivers: Sava, Drina, Morava, Tisa, Tamis, Ibar and
the Lim.
The "Memorial Vitomir Dizdarevic
- Admiral Kuk (Cook)", the Drina-Sava regatta, will beorganized
for the 6th time, in respect to our passed away member, veteran
of the Danube regatta. With his cheerfull character, friendliness,
honesty, life eksperience and his guitar and voice, and the best
canoe he became a legend of the Danube, the Sava and the TID.
On these regattas we meet old friends from all over the world,
make new friends, get to know towns, villages, cultures and traditions.
